History

Founded 2007

Craig Wire Products was founded on December 7, 2007. The company was founded with the express purpose of providing the electrical industry with a reliable and consistent source of emergency and short run magnet wire.

Craig Wire after receipt of order can draw copper rod, roll the process copper wire, then cover (Mica, Daglas, Kapton®, Apical®, Nomex®) and or enamel wire and ship within three days if required.

The founders of Craig Wire are Jack Craig, Brad Archambeau, Linda Belcher and Brett Portwood. They have a combined 147 years of magnet wire experience.

Von Roll Acquisition

In May of 2017, Craig Wire acquired Von Roll Austral, a magnet wire manufacturer of quick turn and low order minimums, in Douglasville, Georgia. The acquisition greatly increased CWP’s manufacturing capabilities and broadened its product offering. The acquisition allowed CWP to shorten it’s lead times and increase the ability to better serve our customer base.

Coppex Acquisition

In May of 2019, Craig Wire acquired the magnet wire manufacturing assets of Coppex Power Technologies in Montreal, Canada. The acquisition of copper forming assets such as conform machines significantly expands the manufacturing capabilities of Craig Wire. All production equipment has been relocated to CWP’s Douglasville plant. In addition, the acquisition greatly expanded CWP’s market presence in Canada.

By the end of 2019,  Craig Wire closed the manufacturing plant in Temple, Georgia and consolidated all production into the Douglasville plant.
